About Our Business
Images by Steppy is owned and operated by Wayne and Jan Steppy.
We have a love for the beauty that we have been provided with and a
love of photography. We try to capture that beauty with cameras and
present it to others as we see it.
About us
R. Wayne Steppy got his first camera about 52 years ago. His father
was an Air Force photographer and passed that love on to Wayne.
Wayne followed in his father's footsteps by joining the Army in 1964.
Wayne was in aviation and retired from the Army as a helicopter pilot in
1984. After a 32 year career in aviation, Wayne went back to his love of
photography and started a business in 2002. He has traveled all over
the world. With his father he lived in Guatemala and Japan. His
overseas travel with the Army included Germany, England, Viet Nam,
and Korea.
Jan Steppy was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia. She met
Wayne
in 1964 and they were married in 1965. Jan was a stay at home mom
until their two sons were in high school. In 1985 Jan completed her
B.S.
In Computer Science. She is currently working full time in that field .
In
2002 Jan became interested in photography from accompanying
Wayne
on photographic trips. In just a few years, Jan has become very skillful
at taking the photographs and processing them in Photo shop, making
great contributions to the business.
